Frequently asked questions

How does real-time suggestion work?

Audio is captured from your microphone or system audio, encoded as PCM, and streamed to AssemblyAI (or Google Speech) for live transcription. As words finalize, they're sent to OpenAI, which streams a completion back token-by-token. The full pipeline typically delivers the first suggestion words within two seconds of the interviewer stopping.

What audio sources can it capture?

The web app can capture your microphone, your entire screen audio (system audio via the browser's screen-capture API), or both simultaneously. The Electron desktop overlay connects to the same session and receives the same suggestions through a local WebSocket broadcast.

Can interviewers or proctoring software detect it?

The app runs in a separate browser tab and has no footprint inside the video conferencing or proctoring software. The Electron overlay is a system-level transparent window and does not appear in screen-share captures of specific application windows. That said, you are responsible for following the rules of any platform you use.

Which languages are supported?

For speech-to-text, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin), Korean, Portuguese, and Hindi are supported. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese automatically switch to Google Cloud Speech for higher accuracy. AI suggestions can be generated in any language the model supports.

Where is my conversation data stored?

Audio is streamed directly to the STT provider and is not stored on our servers. Transcripts and suggestions live only in your browser session (in-memory). Nothing is written to a database. Closing the tab discards all session data.
